Addressing issues that relate to multicultural situations and cultural friction
Degree Programs: Global Cultural Formation, Global Social Dynamics, Global Communication
This department’s educational goal is to foster leaders who can communicate across national borders in order to address current issues that relate to multicultural situations and cultural friction. In order to achieve this, we have established the following three academic areas that focus on the key aspects: culture, society and communication.
- Global Cultural Formation: We engage in research and education that equips students with an accurate understanding of how today’s diverse cultures and value systems were formed and how they have changed over time. This area of study will deepen their understanding of other cultures, which includes comparisons made with Japan.
- Global Society Dynamics: We engage in research and education with the aim of identifying and communicating solutions to various problems faced in today’s world, particularly within the context of rapid internationalization through the transmission of information, capital, people and things.
- Global Communication: We engage in research and education that explores both the potential and problems of language-based communication, and diverse methods of information processing using ICT.
